Information Desk
Staff are available at the Information/Circulation Desk to answer your questions and help you locate items on your reading list, search the online library catalogue (OPAC) and find the best resources for your study, and research.
Main Lending Collection
The Library’s main lending collection holds the greater part of the Library’s stock. The collection is classified and shelved according to the LC classification system. This is made up of short and long term loans. On the first floor are books relating to science and technology, business, and the humanities. Most of the books here may be borrowed for two weeks.
Discussion & Study Areas
The 120 seating facility is the Discussion Room on the first floor is used by students for group work and discussion. Noise should be kept at a minimum for the sake of other users. Apart from the Discussion Area, all other areas in the Library are for quiet studying.
Reference & Reserve Collection
The reference materials (e.g. dictionaries, encyclopaedias, handbooks, etc.) can be found in this section.
It also has a collection of reserved books, theses and past questions. These are heavily used books, recommended titles and journals which cannot be borrowed; they are for reference.
Theses and past questions can be consulted through staff on duty. You may use the lists to select and request the materials you need. Electronic versions of past questions are also available. All materials in this section are to be used in the Library.
All users must have their ID cards; and in some cases, letters of introduction would be demanded before using this facility.
Computer Centre
Our Computer Centre has a modest number of computers with internet connectivity. There are also limited spaces available for laptops. Users may use general software that have been installed for different purposes. Rules governing the use of computers and the facility must be adhered to.
Internet Facility
Internet connectivity (wireless and wired) in almost every part of the Library.
