The aim of the PhD in Petroleum Engineering is to provide students with advanced training in research that leads to the highest level of scholarly achievement, and enable them to conduct research independently.
The objectives of the PhD in Petroleum Engineering, in addition to the objectives of MSc and MPhil in Petroleum Engineering are to train:
- Students to demonstrate proficiency in the professional skills needed to become competent researchers, professors, and scientist in the petroleum industry and academia; and
- Students to be capable of directing teams and students towards modern trends in research.
