Four UMaT Academic Staff Inducted into the Ghana Institution of Engineers

Four members of the academic staff of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, have been inducted into the Ghana Institution of Engineers (GhIE) at the 16th Induction Ceremony for new members held in Accra. Assoc Prof Sulemana Al-Hassan and Assoc Prof William Kwame Buah were inducted into the Chemical/Mining Technical Division whilst Dr Bernard Kumi-Boateng and Dr Yakubu Issaka were inducted into the Civil Technical Division.

The Ghana Institution of Engineers awarded best candidates in the various divisions. Ing Assoc Prof William Kwame Buah received the best candidate award in the Chemical/Mining Technical Division and Ing Eyram Stephen Tetevi, a UMaT graduate also took the best candidate award in the Mechanical/Agric/Marine division.

The ceremony was attended by Past Presidents of GhIE, members of the Engineering Council, representatives of sister professional institutions, families of the newly inducted Engineers, the media and the general public.
