About Us
The department has consistently admitted both local and foreign students, and turned out its first batch of graduates since 2013. Since 2013, many of the students have graduated with impressive classes of degree, including 1st class honours. Many of the graduates are working with some key industries in Ghana and beyond and have excelled at their places of work. In 2015, the Department was accredited by the National Accreditation Board of Ghana to run PhD, MPhil, MSc and PgD in Petroleum Engineering. The Postgraduate Programme in Petroleum Engineering is aimed at providing formal research-based training to update and/or upgrade the knowledge of professionals working in petroleum-related fields locally and internationally to be abreast with the sophisticated and fast-evolving technologies employed in petroleum exploitation. In 2020, the department was renamed as Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering to run Natural Gas Engineering in addition to Petroleum Engineering.
