Welcome to the Department of Environmental and Safety Engineering. We are one of the academic Departments of the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa, Ghana, West Africa. The programmes run at the department are multidisciplinary that draws on several disciplines such as chemistry, ecology, geology, hydraulics, hydrology, microbiology, economics, mathematics health and safety.
Students in our department will acquire the skills and the knowledge in researching and creating substitutes renewable energy resources,Enhancing recycling and waste disposal, Enhancing the quality of water and controlling air pollution. Creating strategies to tackle exiting hazards, Designing and developing sustainable ecosystem, Creating and evaluating informative reports for generating valid resolutions to resolve environmental problems.
